Read some amazing and cost effective ways to upgrade your club bathroom and attract more patrons. For some club owners, the reasons to upgrade your bathroom accessories don’t always stand out, but if you read on, you’ll see the benefits and how it can positively affect your bottom line.

Bathroom sinkWe’re going to address 7 areas of your club bathroom that can, and should be upgraded, they are:

  • the sink
  • the mirrors
  • the soap dispensers
  • the paper towel dispensers
  • the toilet paper dispensers
  • the garbage cans
  • hand dryers

Now before we continue I’m going to set the stage for you with respect to bar-hoppers. The one major thing you want to consider is that people that are frequenting bars and clubs take the time to get dressed and look nice, want to be treated respectfully while they’re at the club and when they go to the bathroom, they want to do so privately within a very clean washroom.

These are just facts. A dirty, old, scummy bathroom is not going to keep your patrons coming back. They’ll walk out of your bathroom feeling more disgusted than they did when they walked into it.

The bottom line is, you should ensure that when the patrons of your bar or club use your washroom, they feel cleaner going out then going in, and they fully enjoy their experience within it.

Lets get started.

The Sink

Upgrade your bathroom countertops and especially the sink. Make sure the countertop is black, and depending on the style, your sinks can be a dark colour too, but a white sink is just fine.

Washroom sinkAfter your patrons have finished using your bathroom let them have a classy and clean experience while they’re washing their hands. Let them enjoy washing their hands, and feel safe from germs while using your water taps.

Your bathroom users really and truly don’t want to think about how dirty or clean the bathroom is, they just want do their business and get on with their way.

The Mirrors

Are your bathroom mirrors foggy? Are they small? Are they damaged or dangling off the wall? Then upgrade them!

When patrons are done doing their business in your club bathroom, while they’re washing their hands, they always look up at the mirror to make sure they look OK.

Woman especially need to the convenience of a perfectly functioning mirror because they use it to fix their hair, and re-apply their makeup. If either the men or woman have a hard time using the mirror it’s going to reduce the positively of their experience.

If you’re willing to splurge a little more money, make sure to purchase a damage resistant mirror because with alcohol consumption sometimes comes angry customers.

The Soap Dispenser

Soap dispenserDoes your current soap dispenser actually work? Does it provide enough soap to wash your hands? It is dirty, cheap, and look like plastic? If so these are not signs that your patrons are in a high class bar or club. Upgrade!

The best soap dispensers are attached to the wall, are always full, always functional and look classy.

The soap dispensers can be of any colour but as mentioned elsewhere in this guide, the advise is to install darker coloured dispensers.

You want to convey that your establishment, and washroom are high end and this is one of the best ways of going about doing it.

The Paper Towel Dispenser

The last thing your patrons do before they exit your washroom is dry their hands. Do you actually have a paper towel dispenser? Does it work? Do your patrons have to dry their hands on their pants? I hope not!

In any given washroom there only needs to be one, or a maximum of two paper towel dispensers, so splurge a bit and buy one that’s classy, always working, and makes your patrons feel like they’ve just been in a high end bathroom which is contained within a high end club. It will pay off in the end, by having your customers enjoy their bathroom experience, and keep them coming back to your club.

The Toilet Paper Dispensers

We’re going to get upfront and person here. Its a touchy subject but has to be addressed. No one likes doing a number-2 out in public but it just happens and sometimes you can’t avoid it.

Does your toilet paper dispenser work? Is it difficult to get to the toilet paper? This is no way to show your appreciation for your club-hoppers. If you don’t upgrade your bathroom accessories, your competition is going to get them to become regulars at their club and that is not going to positively affect your bottom line – at all.

Tips: Don’t use the round ones, they’re bulky, annoying and make it hard to access the toilet paper. Don’t use single-sheet dispensers either – sometimes people actually need a hefty handful of toilet paper. Use something like this. It’s black (sharp), plain and non-branded, has a backup-roll section and makes it really easy to access the toilet paper.

The Garbage Cans

The best garbage or waste receptacles are not garbage cans sitting under the sink. They’re up against the wall, properly attached, sturdy, discreet and deep. One garbage waste receptacle is enough but don’t hesitate for a moment about getting two of them.

The very last thing a patron of your club bathroom does when they leave is throw away their used up paper towel so it has to be easily accessible, and close to the exit. Why? A lot of people like to use their paper towel to hold the handle while opening the door and you don’t want them dropping it behind the door on the floor. That will just make your washroom look trashy, and not give a good impression to your patrons.

Hand Dryers

Hand dryers are not the most recommended bathroom accessory on the market (because they spread germs) but a lot of people like using them (especially if they can’t find a working paper towel dispenser) and, there are actually some hand dryers that boast being able to nuke air-born germs.

A nice set of hand dryers placed in your bathroom will simply top-up your club’s credibility. It will up the classiness and create an overall bathroom experience that’s positive and shows you actually appreciate that your patrons are at your club.

Bonus Tip

Paint your walls black and get black tiles. Paint all the walls black including the bathroom stall doors. The only things that should be white in your bar bathroom is the toilets and if you have to, the sinks.
